I think it should be about Halo 2 after the book series with the other spartans in it, that would be awesome.
Also they should include the Spartan IIIs maybe...
But otherwise, heck yeah

I think it should definitley be about halo1. Maybe have some events from the book happen, but mainly halo1. Mainly because it has to do with the game, although I would like to see movies on the books, it would take 2-3 movies to make them on the books, and that's too long to put off the storyline of the actual game.
I think they will go halo1 first, then halo2, or both halo1 and 2 in a single movie.
I know making movies on the games will be on top the producer's/director's to-do list. mainly because there are more people who have played hte games than those who have read the books.

Spartan IIIs...might be cool, but would take away from the image of Master Cheif. THink about it, Master Cheif is a tough, cool hero character, if they come out with better soldiers then him, there goes his career.

They don't have to be better, they are actually newer and not as expierenced as him but I get your idea.

Are the Spartan IIIs suposed to be higher tech? Or just the next batch of spartans?

Just the next batch of spartans, yeah I am really into the books, I have read the whole series about 5 times now. Its like a movie you find something you missed before.

Well, if it's just the next batch, then they could be in there. I haven't finished the books yet, so I thought they were a new, more advanced bunch of spartans.
I'm looking forward to the movie, which is set for release summer of 2007. They still haven't found the cast yet, not even a director is going to be there for sure yet. However, Peter Jackson (The guy who made the lord of the rings series, and King kong.) is producing, which will be good for the movie.
People have been arguing on several different forums who should play the master cheif. Here's a few people have suggested: Vin Diesel, The Rock, Johny Depp, but I think they'd be wasting money if they hired a high paid actor. I mean really, he's in the armor the whole movie, and they say you only get to see bits and pieces of his face at a time, when all they need is some guy body builder who's 7 feet tall and big and buff, then the guy from the game to play his voice. (Like starwars)

I think they're planning to do it live action. Where'd you hear that?

I heard it a while ago, and I think it sucks that it is going to be live action because then it won't be as cool. First off the covenant won't look as cool Second off it is really hard to do all the stuff that makes masterchief cool Third off I think it would be cheaper and if it looked good, more people would like it better or something to that jazz.

I see what your saying. It would be hard to make the covenant look realistic when they're right next to the cheif trying to beat him down, but on the other hand, Jar jar binks looked pretty realistic ;D. lol
I can see them CG animating the cheif doing all the cool parts humans couldn't really do. COme to think of it, other than having the people talk to each other, this will probably be all CG, like starwars episode3. (If you've looked at the bonus features, you know what I mean. Pretty much everything is green screen and computer generated.)
However, in my opinion, I think if they were to just CG everything, I think I might as well go play the game instead and save 5 bucks from the movie theater. Also, I don't think all-CG movies have been as successful as live action. So they might do live action just for more money.
